Dwight Yoakam has sold more than 25 million albums worldwide, and he is a 21-time nominated, multiple Grammy Award Winner.  He has 12 gold albums and 9 platinum albums, with five of those albums topping Billboard’s Country Albums chart with another 14 landing in the Top 10.  Nearly 40 of Yoakam’s singles have charted on Billboard, with 14 peaking in the Top 10. Yoakam is a recipient of the Artist of the Year award from the Americana Music Association, the most prestigious award offered by the organization, he will be inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in the Songwriter/Artist category at the 49th anniversary Gala on October 14, 2019 in Nashville, TN.

Yoakam’s self-curated SiriusXM channel, titled Dwight Yoakam and The Bakersfield Beat ‘Where Country Went Mod’ launched in April of 2018. The channel celebrates the Bakersfield sound and those whom it has inspired. Guests have boasted the likes of Post Malone, Lukas Nelson, Beck, Chris Hillman, Jakob Dylan, Mike Nesmith and Mickey Dolans, Dave Alvin, and Jackie DeShannon, among others.

In 2016, Yoakam released his bluegrass album Swimmin’ Pools, Movie Stars… on Sugar Hill Records. Featuring a band of bluegrass luminaries, this album boasts a collection of reinterpreted favorites from his catalogue, as well as a cover of Prince’s “Purple Rain”. Produced by nine-time GRAMMY winner Gary Paczosa (Alison Krauss, Dolly Parton), Jon Randall (songwriter of “Whiskey Lullaby”), and Yoakam himself, and mixed by Chris Lord-Alge, this album reflects the love for bluegrass music that Yoakam developed at an early age in Kentucky and that has inspired him for many years thereafter. In 2018, Yoakam released two songs, “Pretty Horses” and “Then Came Monday” (the latter written with Chris Stapleton).

In addition to his musical career, Yoakam is a formidable film and television actor who has appeared in over 40 feature films, including Sling Blade and Panic Room. Most recently he was on the big screen in Clint Eastwood’s latest film, Cry Macho. He recurred in David E. Kelley’s Amazon series Goliath and appeared in director Steven Soderbergh’s film Logan Lucky with Channing Tatum and Daniel Craig.

The Iconic Ringo Starr & His All Starr Band Make Their Way to Rio Rancho this Fall 

May 8, 2023 – Today Ringo Starr revealed his Fall tour plans. Speaking to Pollstar for the current cover story two weeks before launching his Ringo Starr and His All Starr Band Spring tour, Ringo shared that the band will also be touring this Fall. Read it here.

 “Well, I love to play. I love an audience,” Ringo told Andy Gensler of Pollstar. “This is a known fact. I love the audience, they love me.   We have fun on tour. That’s what it’s all about. 2022 was a busy year for Ringo that included Spring and Fall tour dates with his All Starr band. Ringo also released EP3 on September 16, 2022 and on November 18, 2022 EP3 was issued on 10” vinyl and blue cassette and accompanied with a new music video, “Everyone and Everything.” On November 25, 2022 Ringo Starr and His All Starr Band Live at the Greek 2019 (Roccabella via BFD/The Orchard) was released on Blu Ray, DVD, CD and a special yellow double vinyl. In addition, Ringo created 500 life sized “Peace and Love” sculptures of his iconic hand symbol. These were sold exclusively through Julien’s Auctions to benefit the Lotus Foundation.

RUNNERS GEARING UP FOR SEASON 5 WITH OPEN TRYOUTS

Rio Rancho, NM (September 20, 2023) – The New Mexico Runners are gearing up for their 5th season and are
looking for local talent to compete in the Major Arena Soccer League. Tryouts are set for those who are
interested in a chance to secure a roster spot on New Mexico’s first Major Arena Soccer League Team in the
2023-24 season.

The tryout is slated for two days at the Rio Rancho Events Center on Saturday September 23rd with check in
beginning at 12:00 PM MT and Sunday September 24th with check in starting at 10 AM MT. Athletes should
expect to workout for about 2 hours each day.

Interested athletes can register online. Early bird registration online is $40 and it will be $50 the day of at the
door. If you have any questions regarding the tryouts, call the Runners office at 505-663-7786. Must be 18
years or older to participate. USL soccer Hall of Fame Inductee and Head Coach Steve Famiglietta will be
overseeing the tryout along with his coaching staff to find some outstanding talent in our community.

“It’s incredible that we’re heading into season 5 of this exciting game. I look forward to seeing what talent we
will find that can compete at this level.” Said Famiglietta.

The fifth season for the New Mexico Runners will kick off in December and they will play all home games at the
Rio Rancho Events Center. Season tickets are now on sale, starting as low as $80 for all home games and can
be purchased online. New Mexico’s schedule will be released by the league within the next couple of weeks.
