NM GOATHEADS

The New Mexico Goatheads are the newest team in the ECHL — the premier “AA” developmental hockey league affiliated with the NHL.
Established in 2025, the Goatheads will make their debut in the 2026–27 season, hosting 36 regular-season home games at the Rio Rancho Events Center. 

The New Mexico Goatheads take the ice for the first game in franchise history and bring professional hockey back to New Mexico for the first time in nearly two decades as the inaugural season kicks off Friday, October 16, 2026.
